Broccoli Salad with Bacon and Sweet-Sour Dressing

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tbs cider vinegar
  • 1 medium sized sweet onion
  • 1 bunch broccoli
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 8 pieces crisp-cooked bacon

About 3 to 4 hours before serving, stir together mayonnaise, salt, and sugar in a medium bowl. Add vinegar a tablespoon at a time, stirring well after each one. Add the onion. Cut the broccoli florets into small pieces and the stems into small slices. Stir the broccoli into the dressing and refrigerate. Stir several times before serving. Just before serving, stir in the raisins and crumbled bacon. Stir again and serve cold.
