Banana Pudding

For the pudding:
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
For the meringue:
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/3 cup sugar
Miscellaneous:
  • 3 bananas
  • 1 pack of vanilla wafers
Preparing the pudding:

Beat the egg yolks until stiff. Add the dry ingredients for the pudding. Add the milk slowly to the pudding mix. Add the vanilla. Place the pudding mix in a large saucepan and place it on medium heat. Make sure to constantly stir the mix to prevent sticking. Heat until thick. In a large pyrex bowl, make alternating layers of wafers, bananas, and pudding.

Preparing the meringue:

Beat the egg whites until they are thick like shaving cream. Slowly add the sugar to the beaten egg whites. Spread the meringue atop the finished pudding thickly. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the pudding until the meringue is a golden brown.
