Pizza Dough

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons dried yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil

Mix yeast, water and sugar together and set aside for 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.

Combine flour and salt, add it gradually to the flour mix along with the oil, and work it into a dough. Allow to rise for about 30 minutes or until it's about doubled in size. Knock it back and roll it out on a floured surface to make a thin base. You can make 2 medium pizzas with this much dough. You can also freeze it.

Contributor's note: You can stretch the dough out and spin it above your head to make it round rather than rolling it. Depending on your skills this method can cause mess and hilarity in equal proportion.
